October Goals

I totally missed setting September goals, but as hot as it was most of the month, it sure felt like Summer, so we'll just pretend it was included with my Summer goals. I love Autumn and this week truly feels like sweater weather has arrived. We already have a jump start on some fun Fall festivities. We went apple picking, baked a pie and went to our nephew's football game last weekend. October will be full of lots of celebrations and family time. I can't wait!

Summer Goals (May - August):
  • Catch up on little one's baby book
  • Celebrate my first Mother's Day
  • Celebrate Todd's first Father's day
  • Go walking 2-3 times a week - also get new running shoes and hopefully start training for that 5k on my 30 before 30 list
  • Finish cleaning out the basement
  • Have a yard sale
  • Finalize plans to start finishing our basement
  • Go to the lake with Todd's family
  • Celebrate the 4th of July with friends
  • Spend many days at the pool and just take it easy

October Goals:
  • Catch up on little one's baby book - I seriously need to get on this before I forget all the details. She is growing too fast!
  • Bake a pie
  • Go jogging 3 times a week
  • Finish cleaning out the basement
  • Celebrate two of our nephew's birthdays
  • Make homemade applesauce
  • Celebrate my sister's birthday
  • Finalize plans to start finishing our basement
  • Celebrate our sweet baby's dedication at church
  • Go on a weekly date night
  • Finish a baby quilt for a friend
  • Get a jump start on Christmas gifts

What do you have planned for October?

Summer Goals

I've fallen a bit behind on my goal-setting, and since Summer tends to have a more relaxed vibe where the days are long, but the months short, I'd like to set summer goals rather than monthly.

First a quick recap from April.

April Goals:

  • Keep working on little one's baby book - I've fallen behind, I'd love to catch up on this asap before I forget the details and how quickly she is growing!
  • Celebrate my birthday - We had a great time going out to dinner and enjoyed a nice relaxing weekend.
  • Read The Circle Maker - This has fallen off of my reading list and been replaced by other books for the time being.
  • Celebrate Easter with our both of our families - A great time at my grandparents and also at Todd's parents.
  • Continue cleaning out our basement in preparation for our yard sale - check! Still lots to go through but we are making progress.
  • Go walking 2-3 times a week - Not happening, the weather just needs to cooperate, too much rain!
  • Have at least two "Sunday Fun-Days"
  • Read my daily devotional
  • Have a fun date night with Todd to see The Lion King - This was so much fun! A great date night out.
  • Clean out our closets / dressers - still needs done.

So there you have it. What are your summer goals / plans?

April Goals

The first time I have ever set any sort of monthly goals was last month. I did pretty good at a few and not so great at others. I really liked having a set list of things to try to accomplish and work towards.
The weather is finally warming up and Spring is in the air, so I'm feeling much more motivated to get some projects done around the house and spend more time outside.

March Goals:

  • Work on little one's baby book - I started a couple pages, but didn't get as much done as I would have liked
  • Celebrate Todd's birthday - We had a nice family dinner with Todd's parents and then went out a few days later to celebrate with our friends. We will be celebrating with my family later this week.
  • Read The Circle Maker - I think I finished one chapter...hopefully I'll have some more time to read soon.
  • Start cleaning out our basement - We are making great progress here!
  • Celebrate our nephew's birthday - We had so much fun at our Nephew's birthday party.
  • Go walking 2-3 times a week - The weather has been typical for southwest Ohio... unpredictable. I think I averaged 1-2 walks a week. Hoping for more time outside this month.
  • Read my daily devotional - I did pretty good at this on the week days, but tended to forget on the weekends.

April Goals:

  • Keep working on little one's baby book
  • Celebrate my birthday
  • Read The Circle Maker
  • Celebrate Easter with our both of our families
  • Continue cleaning out our basement in preparation for our yard sale
  • Go walking 2-3 times a week
  • Have at least two "Sunday Fun-Days".
  • Read my daily devotional
  • Have a fun date night with Todd to see The Lion King
  • Clean out our closets / dressers

March Goals

I've seen several other bloggers post monthly goals and I've been inspired to do the same. I think this will be a great way to begin working on some of my larger goals from my 30 before 30 list by breaking them down into shorter time frames. This will hopefully make the list less daunting and hopefully I won't procrastinate on the items too much. I'll be sure to post an update at the end of the month with next month's goals and what I was able to accomplish this month.

March Goals:
Work on little one's baby book
Celebrate Todd's birthday
Read The Circle Maker
Start cleaning out our basement
Celebrate our nephew's birthday
Go walking 2-3 times a week
Read my daily devotional
